Léna Pellandini-Simányi

Léna Pellandini-Simányi is Associate Professor at the Institute of Marketing and Communication Management at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. She is co-chair of the Swiss Sociological Association’s Economic Sociology Research Committee and of the “N: Finance and Society” network of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE). Her research examines how normative ideas—carried by material objects, regulations, and discourses—shape markets, consumption, and organizations. She is the author of the book Consumption Norms and Everyday Ethics (Palgrave Macmillan) and has published in leading sociology and marketing journals. Her recent work explores the financialization of everyday life and how digital finance reshapes social classes and economic subjectivities.
