Simiran Lalvani

Simiran Lalvani is a PhD candidate at the University of Oxford, planning to graduate in October 2025. Her thesis examines how food delivery platforms emerge as cultural agents in between India’s media, entertainment, and hospitality industries and the role of their domestic and commercial user-cultures. Prior to this, she explored the relationship between work, technology, and culture through what platforms mean for night time economies in urban India; the digitization of matrimonial matchmaking work; and the representation of domestic workers in comedic content on social media.
