Lawrence Grossberg

Morris Davis Professor of Communication Studies and Cultural Studies. His books include We Gotta Get Out Of This Place: Popular Conservatism and Postmodern Culture, Caught in the Crossfire: Kids, Politics and America’s Future; and Cultural Studies in the Future Tense. He is the editor of the journal Cultural Studies, and his work has been translated into over a dozen languages. His early work focussed on popular music/culture and youth cultures and his current research and teaching interests include: cultural studies as a project/practice; modern and contemporary theory/philosophy; contemporary political cultures; the multiplicity of modernities; and (political-cultural) economics. His current project, Is this anyway to change the world? is a polemic about the state of parts of the intellectual left in the United States.
