Lianrui Jia

Lianrui Jia is a Lecturer in Digital Media and Society at the University of Sheffield. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication Studies at York University, Canada. Her research focuses on the political economy of media, policies and regulation, and financialisation. Jia’s research articles on comparative and China-based digital platforms and internet companies have published in Media, Culture & Society, Internet Policy Review, Communication and Public, European Journal of Cultural Studies, International Communication Gazette, among others. She is currently working on a book project that examines the globalisation and financialisation of digital platforms in China.
